Sibelius choral and garitan personal orchestra. Old macbook thingy! el capitan test computer with sibelius 6 7.1 7,5 (8 demo) and note performer. Macbook pro i7 non retina 2.9ghz 16gb ram 10.9.5 1TB SSD boot drive, 2tb storage drive on mavericks Thanks for the early warning, this may if nothing else drive more people to upgrade sibelius, well done APPLE thanks a bunch! Im guessing that if you have a multi drive system, mac sierra will still read hfs+ and so you will be able to put the sounds on the HFS+ additional drive and have AFS on the system drive? So i am guessing this will be goodbye to anyone running 7.5 or lower wanting to run sibelius sounds if they do not upgrade? if we have bought sib 8 will this sound update be compatible with sib 7.5 or will there no longer be any way to get sib sounds for 7.5 anymore?Īlso do you know if this file format change is optional or compulsory? Joe Pearson | Product Designer | Sibelius If you're running Sierra and you encounter an issue in Sibelius, please let me know about it so I can ensure it gets addressed. So, in summary: for mission critical work, I recommend not running a beta operating system. We'll provide an update to address this in the future. I anticipate that whilst Sibelius itself should be fine running from an AFS volume, Sibelius Sounds will not work (you'll just get silence). We will shortly begin testing on macOS Sierra with a view to supporting it when it is publicly available in Autumn this year.Īpple are introducing a new file system, AFS, to replace HFS+.

I know some of you (myself included) like to run beta versions of Mac OS (macOS these days) so I thought I'd post early about it.
